Ready for Any Dental Emergency

Our Atlanta dental team is equipped to handle a wide range of dental emergency types, ensuring you receive immediate and appropriate treatment. Common dental emergencies include severe toothaches, cracked or broken teeth, lost fillings, damaged dental crowns, and abscessed teeth. We also treat traumatic injuries, such as knocked-out or dislodged teeth and soft tissue injuries to the mouth. Once the emergency is resolved, we recommend a follow-up dental exam to check for any lasting damage.

Emergency Services We Offer

Toothaches and Gum Pain: We provide immediate pain relief for severe toothaches and gum pain, easing your discomfort while we diagnose the underlying problem.

Severely Damaged Teeth: If a tooth is beyond repair, we perform gentle and efficient tooth extractions to relieve pain and prevent further complications.

Tooth Decay and Infection: For severe decay or infection, we offer same-day root canal treatment to preserve the affected tooth.

Lost Fillings or Damaged Crowns: If you’ve lost a filling or damaged a crown, we provide immediate replacement to protect the tooth and restore its function.

Gum Infections: If you’re experiencing severe swelling, bleeding, or pain in the gums, we provide immediate treatment to manage the infection and prevent it from spreading.

Frequently Asked Questions About Emergency Dental Care

Call us immediately. We accommodate same-day emergency appointments whenever possible, and our team will triage your situation over the phone to prioritize your care. Do not wait out dental pain. Infections and injuries can worsen quickly, and same-day treatment almost always prevents the problem from becoming more serious and more expensive.
Act fast because time matters significantly. If possible, gently rinse the tooth without scrubbing it, place it back in the socket, or keep it moist in a glass of milk or between your cheek and gum while you get to our office. Contact us immediately. The sooner you arrive, the better the chance of saving the tooth. Do not let it dry out or wrap it in a dry cloth or tissue.
Severe, persistent tooth pain is always worth treating as an emergency. Pain without visible damage can signal infection, a cracked tooth beneath the gumline, or a developing abscess, conditions that will not resolve on their own and can become serious if left untreated. Do not wait for a routine appointment if your pain is affecting your daily life. Contact our office and we will assess the situation and get you in the same day when possible.
Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM, and we do not currently offer extended hours beyond that schedule. If you have a severe dental emergency outside those hours, such as uncontrolled bleeding, significant facial swelling, or a trauma injury, visit your nearest hospital emergency room for stabilization and follow up with our office as soon as we open. For non-life-threatening pain, over-the-counter pain relievers can provide temporary relief while you wait to contact us.
Most dental insurance plans cover emergency visits, particularly for procedures classified as medically necessary such as extractions, root canals, and treatment for infections. The exact coverage depends on your plan. When you contact us to schedule your emergency appointment, our team will ask for your insurance information and verify benefits quickly so you are not left guessing about costs when you arrive.
Many dental emergencies can be avoided with routine care and a few precautions. Keep up with regular dental exams and cleanings, wear a mouthguard during sports, and avoid chewing on ice, hard candy, or other hard objects that can crack a tooth. The American Dental Association’s MouthHealthy resource outlines additional steps for preventing and responding to dental emergencies at home.
